Sol Sunguard sunscreen

This is the best sunscreen I've used. It's non-greasy, doesn't sting the eyes, and works as advertised. Being a bald guy I know for sure when a sunscreen fails and Sol has never let me down. Check them out here.

Who is Gear Soapbox?

Between the three of us, Tifighter, Ted Steudel, and Kaj Bune, we have over 60 years experience in the outdoor industry and more years out in the wide world playing with gear. We work together at a major outdoor brand and this makes it our job to talk about, be passionate about, care about, and use outdoor gear. We are and have been involved in a wide assortment of outdoor sport from paddling, lift skiing, backcountry skiing, cycling, and backpacking to expedition mountaineering, trail running, hiking, rock climbing, alpinism, and others.

Most of all we love being in the outdoors. For us, a great piece of gear is one that enhances the wild experience and blends with the user. A great canoe paddle should become an extension of the paddler, so much so that the user no longer sees it as a separate tool. Like our lungs, the only time we should become aware of gear is when something is amiss.

But we're not much interested in the gear that isn't "done" yet. What we want to populate Gear Soapbox with are the items of gear that we have "forgotten" because they work so well.
